The heart

Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart - Psalm 27:14

The human heart is an incredible organ. It starts beating at 21 days of a baby's formation, when it can't even be called a fetus, and it continues to do so till life ends. It's the hardest working muscle in the body, always in action, pumping blood and keeping all the other parts vital.

With several credits to the heart, it's amazing to know that in this life it's role is way beyond just physical. Happy, sad, lonely, depressed, in love - all these emotions are often linked to the heart. When in love, the heart is said to have sprouted wings. When depressed, the heart is said to be broken. When in shock, the heart goes into palpitations. Light-hearted. Heavy-hearted. Faint-hearted. Heart is an integral part of our emotions!

The toughest thing to do in today's fast-paced, quick-fix world, is to wait. Yet, this is what the Bible teaches us to do to strengthen our feeble hearts. Wait?! It's easier to follow steps, do mantras, say a couple of spells or take deep breaths and exercise than to....wait! This is where we trust God. And His impeccable timing.

So today, if your heart needs strength to go on, just wait.

Be of good courage. Pause. Stop for a beat.

Trust that Jesus will strengthen your ❤
